Designer Spotlight: Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio of Attico

Every so often, a fashion brand comes along that doesn’t follow the traditional career trajectory of design school, internships, entry-level positions and with hard work, recognition and acclaim from the industry. Attico, founded by former street style doyennes Gilda Ambrosio and Giorgia Tordini—who boast an impressive following across their respective Instagram accounts—was born from the idea of taking boudoir-inspired velvet accesories and shoes outside of after-hours. The result? Decadent fabrics and sexy, feminine silhouettes that exude luxury, and some of the most coveted accessories this season; case in point, an undeniably chic ankle strap that instantly transforms any pump or sandal.

Points of inspiration range from artisanal details and interior design-inspired patterns, plus colors and embroideries that recall the opulence of vintage furniture—an unlikely source of creative mojo until one remembers that ‘attico’ is Italian for penthouse. We can only imagine what treasures exist in the chic appartamenti of the stylish pair...
